A quick and easy one-pan dinner featuring honey garlic glazed salmon and roasted asparagus, ready in under 30 minutes. Perfect for busy weeknights or impressing guests with minimal effort.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 salmon fillets (about 6 ounces / 170g each)
  • 1/4 cup (85g) honey
  • 3 tablespoons (45ml) low-sodium soy sauce
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons (30ml) olive oil, plus extra for asparagus
  • 1 pound (450g) fresh asparagus, woody ends snapped off
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • Optional garnish: 1 tablespoon sesame seeds, 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley, lemon wedges

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a rimmed baking sheet with parchment paper or aluminum foil.
  2. In a small bowl, whisk together honey, soy sauce, minced garlic, and 2 tablespoons olive oil until smooth.
  3. Rinse and pat dry asparagus. Snap off woody ends. Place on prepared baking sheet, drizzle with 1 tablespoon olive oil, and season with salt and pepper. Toss to coat and spread in a single layer on one side of the pan.
  4. Pat salmon fillets dry with paper towels. Place skin-side down on the other side of the baking sheet, leaving space between fillets. Season tops with salt and pepper.
  5. Brush honey garlic glaze generously over the tops and sides of the salmon fillets. Reserve about 2 tablespoons of glaze for later.
  6. Roast for 12-15 minutes, depending on thickness (about 13 minutes for 1-inch thick fillets). Asparagus should be tender-crisp and salmon should flake easily.
  7. About 2 minutes before done, remove pan from oven and brush reserved glaze over salmon. Return to oven to finish cooking.
  8. Optional: Broil for the last 1-2 minutes for extra caramelization, watching closely to prevent burning.
  9. Remove from oven and let rest for 2-3 minutes. Sprinkle with sesame seeds and parsley if using. Serve with lemon wedges.

Notes

Pat salmon dry for best caramelization. Don’t overcrowd the pan. Adjust asparagus cooking time based on thickness. Let salmon rest before serving. For a spicier version, add red pepper flakes to the glaze.
