A quick and easy homemade pumpkin cream cold foam that tastes better than Starbucks, made with simple ingredients in under five minutes.

Ingredients

Scale
  • ¼ cup half-and-half (or heavy cream for a richer foam, or whole milk for a lighter version)
  • 2 tablespoons pumpkin puree (not pumpkin pie filling)
  • 1 tablespoon maple syrup (or honey, or simple syrup)
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
  • ¼ teaspoon pumpkin pie spice (plus a little extra for garnish)
  • Pinch of salt
  • Ice
  • Strong brewed coffee or cold brew (about 1 cup per serving)
  • Optional: milk of choice

Instructions

  1. Combine the ingredients. In your jar, bowl, or frother cup, add the half-and-half, pumpkin puree, maple syrup, vanilla extract, pumpkin pie spice, and a pinch of salt. Make sure the pumpkin puree is broken up a bit.
  2. Mix until smooth. If using a jar, screw the lid on tightly and shake vigorously for about 30 seconds. If using a frother, blend for about 20-30 seconds until smooth and foamy. If whisking by hand, whisk vigorously for about a minute until bubbles form and the mixture has doubled in volume.
  3. Check the consistency. The foam should be thick enough to hold its shape for a few seconds. If too thin, give it another 10 seconds of shaking or frothing. If too thick, add a tiny splash of milk and mix again.
  4. Prepare your coffee. Fill a glass with ice and pour in your cold brew or strong coffee. If you like a creamier base, add a splash of milk before the coffee.
  5. Pour the foam. Slowly pour the pumpkin cream cold foam over the back of a spoon onto your iced coffee to help it sit on top.
  6. Garnish and serve. Sprinkle a tiny bit of pumpkin pie spice or cinnamon on top. Serve immediately with a straw.

Notes

Use room temperature half-and-half for better frothing. Don’t skip the salt—it balances sweetness and enhances pumpkin flavor. If foam is too thin, add more pumpkin puree; if too thick, add a splash of milk. The unfrothed base can be stored in the fridge for up to 3 days.
